The mission of SOCAL Aquatics is to create an environment that will enable every athlete to reach their potential; both in swimming and in life.

ADULT MASTERS SWIMMING

SOCAL Masters swimming welcomes anyone 18 years of age or older to enjoy structured swim workouts with our team.  We are a non-competitive group that swims for fun, fitness and the maintenance of a healthy lifestyle. No prior experience with competitive swimming is necessary, however this is not a learn-to-swim program.  You must be able to swim laps of freestyle comfortably. There will always be a coach on deck, but typically they will be working with thier own group. Paper workouts are given and swimmers go through the workout individually or in small training groups of 3-4 people.  Most of our members are former competitive swimmers having competed in the high school or college level and are just looking for open lanes.

Our practice schedule is as follows:

September - May (Short Course)
MWF 6-7am
TuTh 5:30-7am
Sat 6-7am

June - August (Long Course)
M-Sat 6-7am

The cost for our program is $75/month.  There is no drop-in option. All Masters swimmers have access to hot showers and a locker room after practice.

Note:  If you are a currently registered USMS swimmer in town on business/vacation and are looking for a workout, please email Coach Steve (coachsteve@socalaquatics.com) to join the group.

How To Join:

Step One:  Show Up! You will need a swim suit, towel and the following gear:  kickboard, pull buoy, paddles, fins, goggles, and a water bottle.  We recommend Speedo swim equipment, which can be purchased at Competitive Aquatic Supplies in Irvine.  Once on deck, introduce yourself to the coach on Deck (usually Coach Ben, but not always) and go for a free swim to try it out.

Step Two:   If you've made it this far congratulations!  You're now ready to become an official SOCAL Masters swimmer.  A lifetime of productive, early mornings await you.  Please take a moment to sign up for SOCAL Masters HERE.  You will also need to register with the US Masters Association HERE

Step Three:  Wake up, swim, repeat!  Once you've signed up and paid for both SOCAL Aquatics and US Masters Swimming, you're a member of the group and can start attending regularly scheduled workouts.  See you on deck!
